Hazy, lazy days.

It is hot.

Too hot for me, anyway. I am happiest at 22°C and under. We’re in the 35°C range this past week.

I don’t want to do much.

I did manage to get some more mowing done, but nearly gave myself heat exhaustion in the process. The garden is booming, but other than watering some of the potted things, it doesn’t need much from me right now

The mosquitos continue to be a problem. We will try something new, and it seems to work for maybe one night, and then the next night, they come flooding back in and we spend another sleepless night hunting vampires. Last night was bad. They’re getting in through or around the windows, somehow. It isnt good, and it is immensely frustrating. We can’t have the windows open for cool breeze at night, because it is an open door to torment.

Being tired and hot means quiet indoor activities today. I spent some time winding the yarn off of my drop spindle and kick spindle

I can’t find my ball winder right now. It is *somewhere* in Boxland, so for the time being, I simply wound onto a dowel to empty my spindles.

I have 264 feet off the drop spindle and 330 feet off the kick spindle. Each will be plied, so 132ft and 165ft respectively. In total I have 297 feet of yarn to add to the rug, as soon as I find the ball-winder.

In the rainbow wool, I have probably enough to make that much more again, but that’s just a guess. I have 3 other kinds of wool waiting to play with, but those may be used for different projects, and keep the rug rainbow. It doesnt need to be a very BIG rug, as it is just for in front of my spinning chair, but at the moment it is more the size of a large trivet, so I may need to acquire another lb-bag of the rainbow merino before I am finished. We shall see.

One response to “Hazy, lazy days.”
