We havent made as much progress in the last month as I’d like, but we have made progress. The greenhouse/shed is not finished, but it is farther along than it was.

This past week saw the diagonal braces installed and the first of the steel put back on. We’re reusing the steel that was on before, so there is some hole repair that will be needed, but in general it will work quite well.
This coming week, we need to add some metal reinforcement to the top beam on each side, as we had to join two pieces to get the correct length, and a joint is a vulnerability to load. We wouldnt want the first winter to break the new building.

We moved these two pallet shelf units from either end of the clothesline to this one spot, where they together become the frame for a new garden tools and lawnmower shed. We may not get that built this season, but it’ll be in place to work with come spring at very least.
We also need to do some minor repair to the inside of our house. The main beam is spliced and there is a bit of sag happening at the laminated joints. We have a jackpost and some steel mending plates and it should be fairly straightforward. Slowly raise the beam at those areas until the beam is straight again, bolt a 1/4 inch mending plate to each side, repeat at each joint. The sag is minor, but shouldnt be there at all, so we’ll get it fixed up. It gives us a heads-up for when we need to place similar beams in the true house, too. We know what needs done to prevent such issues in future.
