A solid month has gone by since I wrote last. Time has a way of doing that. We’ve made SOME progress in that time.
We celebrated another birthday

The kids’ garden beds have been assembled, filled and planted

Two linden and 3 sour gum trees, several hazelnut and hardy cherry shrubs, two goji berry, a highbush cranberry and a *coral star* honeysuckle have been added to the orchard.
Several of the winter-sown things have sprouted
Some of the greenhouse things have grown big enough to plant out
Two of our birdhouses have tree swallows in them.
The blackflies have emerged in all their viciousness
The kids’ playstructure wood has now been cut to size

The holes have been dug for the vineyard (although my grapes appear to have died, so that slows that project down. I have two table-grapevines arriving at the end of the month, but I’ll need to replace my juice/wine grapes)
The slugs are proving to be a problem this year. Gross, slimy creatures that eat all the things.
I need to start mowing as soon as I can get a new can of gas. The grass has BURST into lush life in the last week or so and is getting very quickly long. Given I have a greater area to mow this year, I need to get ahead of it.
