Surprise! More rain.
Given the fire situation in the rest of the country, I’ll take the rain, but I’m beginning to expect pairs of animals to show up in my yard looking for a cruise vacation.
We’re very soggy here. Today brought another layer of sog.
We were prepared for it. I slipped out last evening and picked up 3 more knitting spools and balls of yarn so the kiddos would have something to occupy themselves with, and I have a big ol’ box of peaches here that need canned, so I picked away at that.
The spool project was a frustration for everyone involved. My eldest has a tendancy to believe they know the best way to do things (even if it is very wrong), and then gets frustrated and quits when it doesnt work. The youngest still has a limited attention span and has not quite developed full manual dexterity, so I got handed the spool back for nearly every stitch. The middle child actually buckled down and knitted a few inches. The eldest is competitive, so out would that spool again from time to time in a bid to catch up. It passed the day.
I started sewing the rag rug into its round this morning, too. It is not going to be astonishingly lovely, but it should be quite warm, and I’m more concerned with that.
Tomorrow, I have more peaches to do, and more of the rug and more of my yarn projects. Probably some mowing, too, if the ground will dry enough not to clog the mower.
