Just Chores.

Last night started well. The dragonflies were patrolling the windows, so we had a nice cooling breeze. We headed to bed a bit earlier than has been possible lately. Husband didnt sleep much at all, due to fiberglass at work the day before. I slept a few hours.

The mosquito invasion came at 3am this time. And it wasn’t good. We still have no idea where they’re getting in. But they are indeed getting in. Sleep was over for the day. By the time Chocobo started crowing at ten minutes to five, we were tired, irritable, and quite unhappy to be watching the dawn arrive. Husband would insult him every time he crowed, “Aw, shuddap, you flaccid turkey!”

I drove husband to work this morning, as sleep deprivation and motor vehicles dont mix well, and I was slightly better rested. Which means I picked him up again, too.

The rest of the day was just chores:

  • Weave more into the compost fence
  • Water the potted herbs and plants
  • Get a load of the kids’ laundry in the bucket. Set them to washing their own undies.
  • Dishes
  • Empty bucket, refill sawdust bucket
  • Empty drain buckets
  • Fill water jugs
  • Switch the laundry to rinse, then wring and hang.
  • Make meals
  • Read Stories
  • Supervise schooling

On top of that, I spent 3 hours on the phone and internet cleaning up some loose admin chores. I hate that kind of thing.

It’s the basics that take time and fill days.
