Steps Forward

Now that Husband’s car is free from the ground, and the driveway is not squidgy, he got to drive himself to work like a big boy yesterday. It was quite nice to not be tied to that clock. I did go out — the hardware store again. They know me there now. Got the locking rings and the final short piece of pipe, and a piece of remnant linoleum. Looked at the fruit trees, because that is my addiction, but didnt buy any.

I spent a portion of the day on video call with a dear friend, being walked through the process to repair YoungestKiddo’s bicycle chain. I havent personally owned a bike in 20 years, and never did the maintenance on it when I did own one, so this was entirely new skills.

The afternoon, I spent in the barn, beginning to get tools and hardware put away, sweeping and sweeping and sweeping, and then beginning to get the things that turn a room into a home laid out and hung up

Coat hooks in the entryway
Linoleum to make the entryway more mud-resistant.
Re-oriented the couch, looking for the most amount of space. Got one of the hammock chairs hung.

Then, the kids started moving their stuff over. A few puzzles and games, clothing, a decorative item or two..

The moving-in process wont be accomplished all in one day, but we’ve made a beginning
