Ever go to a store for ONE thing and come out needing a pack camel?
Two words:
Dollar Store.
I went in for salt. Pink Himalayan Salt to be specific. I came out with everything from planters to hair combs, sketchbooks to fig newtons.
But it is springtime, so there is currently no such thing as a store that is not a danger to my wallet. They all have garden things out now.
Every store, from the grocery to the hardware, dollar store to the convenience shop has racks of seeds and at very least a stack of pots in the corner.
I only bought 2 planters though. For very specific, planned ahead of time plants. And then when I was in the barn, looking for the hand drill, I found two empty, dirty, unused buckets as well.

A few quick holes into the bottom of each bucket and planter, and then off to the dirt. I have had 3 bags of soil here, just waiting, and it was warm enough (finally) that they weren’t frozen solid anymore. 1.5 bags gave me 4 full planters and a solid gardener’s manicure. First of the season.
The two planters now contain parsnip seeds and salsify seeds. The buckets remain plain soil for the moment. My “garden” is growing, a little at a time

Also, my ‘Strictly Medicinal’ seeds shipped today, so I should be able to get the nettles at the very least in soon.
These are the good days.
