April. The month, supposedly of showers and springtime. It began with snow. Mixed with rain, so maybe that counts…messy.

We slept in a little bit. I am getting better, but still not well, so the extra sleep was very welcome.

Breakfast of champions. Cinnamon donuts, green smoothie with yogurt, and berries. The kiddos chose it yesterday, and I certainly have no complaints.

Barn chores this morning involved feeding carrot tops to Ms Maggie. When she isnt being entirely annoying, she is the most adorable thing ever.

We sent the kiddos outside to play for awhile this morning, and you would have thought we suggested some sort of war crime. The wailing and gnashing of teeth was next-level. Go OUTSIDE, child. Breathe fresh air. Run around. Expend your energy out THERE.

Main meal involved potatoes, so this of course did not meet the approval of 2 out of 3 children. It also contained beef, so also to the dismy of 2/3 children. 1 of 3 children disapproved of the carrots. 2 stars, do not recommend this restaurant.

Tomorrow, the sun is supposed to shine. More laundry (I still have the work shirts to do), shovelling out the stinky chicken pen, and taking another swing at prep for the stovepipe.

We certainly expected to be in and USING the stove by April. Now, I just hope we get in before it is too warm to use it at all this spring.
