Psycho Weather, Psycho Goat

Yesterday was +7. Today is -6 and freezing rain/snow. Tomorrow is -20, and by Monday, it is supposed to be +5 and raining. The weather is having a bipolar spell.

To go with the psychotic weather, we have Maggie’s somewhat unstable state of mind. Her whole world changed abruptly, so I’m certainly not surprised she is acting out. For those who havent experienced a goat tantrum, look up “goat tongue lashing” on youtube. It’s very funny.

The “pbthththt” sound, we were already quite familiar with. That is the sound of a displeased goat. The tongue lashing/babbling was a new phenomenon, and I had to look it up. Goats are vastly entertaining creatures anyway, but how exactly are you supposed to take them seriously when they sound like this when angry….

Other than time with the goats, we didnt spend a vast amount of time in the barn today. I put a burlap skirting on the sink, because I could (and because Home Depot buckets are ugly), and husband cut 51 slats for the kids’ bunks. Come Sunday, we’ll get them properly spaced and nailed down

I still need to put a rod on the front for a sliding curtain
17 slats x 3 beds. Between a slat base and coil-less mattresses, hopefully the kiddos will learn that jumping on the beds is not a good idea.

Once the slats are fastened down, we can put the 3rd bunk in place
