Wash Day

On hygeine days, nothing much else gets accomplished. We have a minimum of 3 hours drive, plus 3 hours of laundry, and interspersed in there we have bathing and charging up all the things.

This time we had a longer drive, as the truck ahead of us for quite a stretch was carrying about 30 crushed vehicles. They had thrown some patchy cargo netting over top, but pieces were winging off at regular intervals. It was an anxious sort of truck to be stuck behind. So, when it took the righthand turn we normally would have taken, we went straight instead and went the long way….and then I got a wee bit confused and we ended up going the VERY long way. Getting truly lost is hard here, so I’ll just say we enjoyed scenery that wasn’t familiar to us for a while.

Since the kids are ridiculous backseat drivers when they don’t recognise something, I put the radio on to distract them. 50’s Shoo-Wop music. Splish Splash!, The Twist, Love Me Tender. The one called Hot Dog! amused them greatly. Every time the singer caroled ‘hot dog!’ they would shout it out in response and then have hysterics. Children are funny.

We brought back another load of bins and boxes from the truck. A bit at a time, we’ll have our stuff again. Hopefully, we will not also have the rodent that has decided to live in the truck as well. Also, it will be nice to have that bill removed and the truck gone.

Apparently it was valentines day? We don’t play that game, for several reasons, so I tend to lose track. I did run across this, though, and it made me laugh:

Tomorrow, it’s back to the hardware store for corner brackets, burlap and strapping. Then we get back to work.
