We didn’t get anything done today.

We PLANNED to, but things happened.

Goal #1 – get the driveway plowed. Because of the extreme amount of cold on the weekend, the tractor needed a good long time on the generator to warm up enough to start. It was after lunch by that point. But then it wasn’t running right. Kept trying to stall out. How’s the gas? Well, there’s the problem, no gas! Pour in 5 gal gas. Now it’s running but there’s a weird smell. Did you check the oil? Where’s the dipstick? Whoa! Way low! Turn it off NOW!

Revised goal #1 – go get the things in town. I already had a list of needful things in order to attend to the well pump, but my list just got longer.

– 1 gal diesel motor oil

1 combination oil drain pan/ transport bottle

5 gal diesel fuel

5 gal gasoline

3 bottles kerosene

2 20-lb propane refills

For the well project: 1 8×10 tarp and 1 tube 242 Loctite Threadlocker

For the nesting boxes : 1 piano hinge and a box of 5/8 screws

For the barn : 2 cans expanding spray foam

For the bed project: 1 large box deck screws.

Basically, aside from making meals, all I did today was drive around and spend money.

Oh, and melt snow for dish water. Because no water. Yeah. Yay.

Hopefully, tomorrow goes more smoothly.
