We have a VERY cold weekend ahead of us. Like, it hasn’t been this cold in this part of the country since 1982. The heater in the bus just cannot compete with nearly -50 windchills.

So, we can’t stay. We will be seeking warm refuge until it is over and the arctic weather is finished playing drunken tourist in our yard and goes back home.

As such, a good part of today was spent packing up and removing anything damageable by freezing from the bus.

We did get some minor building done.

The chicken pen is now at the minimum requirements for occupancy. The ‘bench’ in the corner will quickly become nesting boxes. And it needs roosts yet, but we intend to bring the birds back with us after the weather calms and just work around them while we finish up.
